Interactive Poetry
Group Project: Angel Wang, Eva Cao, Mackenzie Li, May Choy, Qingyun Liu (alphabetical order)
The original poem is We Real Cool by Gwendolyn Brooks. We have crafted three variations and prepared corresponding sets of words that mirror the original rhyme scheme. When the audience interacts with the keyboard, a single word from one of these groups falls into place, creating a new poem that rhymes but might hold entirely different meanings from the original. The new word fills the gap—but does it truly? This experience draws inspiration from the Surrealists’ exquisite corpse language games. Featuring live DJ performances and an interactive TouchDesigner interface.
